Napa Valley Train

Welcome aboard the Napa Valley Train! An experience straight out of an Agatha Cristi novel. The trains themselves are from the 1920s and refurbished into a mobile fine dining restaurant. They serve lunch and dinner while you tour 3-hours around Napa county.

My mom, sister and brother are visiting from out of town, and we wanted to try something different. It seemed ideal: less stress, no walking, lots of food and plenty of wine, what more could one ask for? We enjoyed it a lot, and since the train was very slow you could enjoy the landscape. There was also a wine tasting
compartment but we did not bother going there anymore. After all the complimentary wine and the motion of the train, you feel a little whoozy.

In the photo below, you can see the gorgeous salmon we ate, served with a little caviar, capers, olives and whipped cream. Desert was a vanilla creme brulee. I gained 10 pounds just looking at it. The cuisine was first class, and the ride picturesque. A good way to spend an afternoon and approximately $80.
