Dwarfed by Sequoias

There's something humbling about walking through a forest of trees over three thousand years old. During a recent visit to Yosemite Park, we ohheed and ahhed at these living giants. I tried to imagine how Merry and Pippin must have felt after being kidnapped by the ents, and shuddered at the thought. Many legends tell tales (including a favorite of mine by Jane Yolen) of walking trees and if they were true, maybe the world would be a better albeit creepier place.
